Winter 2017-2018 - the 2-person Saint Gervais Epaule chairlift will be replace by a new generation 6-person chairlift.
The S.T.B.M.A. who runs the Saint-Gervais Ski resort continues its investment strategy to provide a better service to its cutomers. The new Epaule chairlift has a capacity of 2350 skiers/hour (compared to 1 200 skiers/hour before) and the travel time is reduced to 2min40s. These major improvements will avoid bottleneck effect at the Epaule chairlift which is the main access to the highest point of the ski resort (Mont-Joly). Skiers will appreciate the new access to the Saint-Nicolas ski area:
1000m of descent between Top of Epaule and Chattrix
Access to the Mont-Joly chairlift, highest point of the Evasion ski resort
Access to the Mont Joly refuge,
Access to the best freeride in the valley

On top of improving the speed and cumfort for our clients, this new chairlift includes other interesting features:
- A smalller visual impact on the mountain with the reduced number of pylones
- Architecture and color are carefully selected to reduce impact on the landscape
- Better resistance to wind
- Seats are equiped with child protection
- Reduced speed at embarking and disembarking
Budget: 5,4 millions euros HT.
